Admissions Open 2026
M.Sc Neuroscience
Decode the brain. Understand behaviour. Advance mental health.
M.Sc Neuroscience is a 2-year postgraduate degree that studies the nervous system from molecules to mind — its structure, how neurons communicate, and how the brain shapes behaviour and mental health. Offered by ITHS at Rayat Bahra University, Chandigarh, and built as a base for research and a PhD.

The Field
About M.Sc Neuroscience
Neuroscience is the study of the nervous system — the brain, the spinal cord and the billions of neurons that carry signals across the body. It asks how the brain is built, how neurons communicate, and how genes and environment shape thought, behaviour and mental health.
The postgraduate degree covers brain structure and function together with advanced research in cognitive neuroscience, neuropharmacology and computational neuroscience. Across two years you move from coursework to real laboratory research and a project of your own.
It is an interdisciplinary field that connects biology, psychology, medicine and data — and a direct path into research careers, neurotechnology and a PhD.
Curriculum
What you study
Four semesters of advanced coursework and laboratory work, closing with a supervised research project that links brain science to real-world outcomes.
Neuroanatomy & Neurophysiology
How the brain and nervous system are built and how neurons carry signals.
Cognitive & Behavioural Neuroscience
How the brain drives memory, attention, emotion and behaviour.
Neurotechnology & Brain Imaging
The tools that record and map brain activity, from EEG to imaging.
