Molecular Medicine studies disease at the level of genes, proteins and cells — the science behind modern diagnosis and precision treatment. ITHS offers two paths at Rayat Bahra University, Mohali: an undergraduate B.Sc after 12th, and a postgraduate M.Sc after graduation.

The Field

What is Molecular Medicine

Molecular Medicine looks at why a disease begins inside the body's genes, proteins and cells, rather than only at its outward symptoms. That understanding makes it possible to detect illness earlier and treat it more precisely.

When a lab identifies a cancer mutation, when a genetic test predicts how a patient will respond to a drug, or when a treatment is matched to a person's DNA — that is this science at work. It brings genetics, cell biology and translational research together, and sits behind personalised medicine and modern diagnostics.

At ITHS you can enter the field at two levels. Start after 12th with the B.Sc, or specialise after graduation with the M.Sc. Both are delivered at Rayat Bahra University, Chandigarh.

Which Molecular Medicine course should I choose?

Choose the B.Sc if you have finished 12th with Biology and want a 3-year undergraduate degree. Choose the M.Sc if you already hold a B.Sc and want a 2-year postgraduate specialisation and research path.

Is NEET required?

No. Admission to both programmes is merit based, so NEET is not required.

Where are the courses offered?
