Every academic journey has a beginning, and for the newest members of the Institute of Translational Health Science (ITHS) family, that beginning arrived with the Orientation cum Induction Programme 2026. Held at Rayat Bahra University, Mohali, the event brought together new students, faculty, and staff for a day filled with warmth, energy, and purpose.
Setting the Tone for a New Academic Year
The Orientation cum Induction Programme is more than a formal welcome, it’s the first real introduction students get to life at ITHS. This year’s edition was designed to do exactly that: familiarize new students with the institute’s academic environment, walk them through the departments and laboratories they’ll come to know well, and introduce the support systems in place to help them thrive from day one.
From the moment students walked in, the goal was clear. Make them feel like they already belonged.
A Programme Built on Teamwork
None of this comes together without people working quietly and effectively behind the scenes. The organizing team’s coordination was evident throughout the day, and that same spirit of collaboration is really what ITHS is built on.
A few teams deserve a special shoutout:
- Stage Management & Student Engagement Team, for curating interactive activities that kept students genuinely involved rather than just watching from the sidelines.
- Discipline Management Team, for ensuring the event ran smoothly, with excellent coordination that often goes unnoticed but never goes unappreciated.
- Administrative, Accounts, and Logistics Teams, for handling everything from seating arrangements to hall decoration, making sure students felt comfortable the moment they arrived.
Hands-On from Day One: Laboratory Exposure Sessions

One of the highlights of the programme was the laboratory exposure sessions, giving new students an early, up-close look at the institute’s practical and research facilities. For a health science institute, this kind of firsthand exposure matters, it turns an abstract idea of “what I’ll be studying” into something tangible students can see and connect with right away.
Paired with the welcoming and introductory sessions, the day struck a nice balance between structure and warmth, informative enough to set expectations, and welcoming enough to ease any first-day nerves.
More Than Just an Event
By the time the programme concluded, it had done what it set out to do: introduce students to their new academic home while building a genuine sense of belonging, motivation, and excitement for what’s ahead.
At ITHS, this is really the foundation of everything. A supportive, research-driven, student-centered environment where new students aren’t just enrolled. They’re welcomed.
Here’s to the new batch and everything they’ll go on to achieve. Welcome to ITHS!
